WWIR schedules all playlists 7 days in advance. In these playlists are what are called ‘Voice Track’ markers. You will be downloading a free piece of software which will allow you to connect to our Voice Tracking Server. Your assigned time slot will appear in front of you. You will see all of the tracks, Station IDs, commercials and your voice track markers that will be airing during that time slot. You will simply record your voice track at each mark! There are 3 voice tracks per hour! So, in a 4 hour time slot there will be a total of 12 voice tracks!
Each VT should be no longer than 3 minutes long. You can talk about the song just ended, the one that’s about to come up. You can talk about the band – go to their web site and look at the bio to get some ideas on what to say! Give some interesting facts – maybe upcoming gigs! Be creative! Just remember, you’ll be representing WWIR! Which reminds me, don’t forget to tell the listeners their listening to WWIR World Wide Indie Radio at wwirradio.com!
Oh, don’t worry, we do have a training video put together by Rich Wildman from MSI for you. Rich is DJing Monday through Friday from 8am to noon on WWIR! Tune in to check out how he does it!
We’re primarily looking for people to do weekend slots! Are you interested? Shoot me an email at mark AT butterfliesradio.com!
