Here is a special newsletter dedicated to the 2014 ARTIST IN MUSIC AWARDS held on Friday 7th February 2014
My partner Mark attended the recent 3rd Annual Artist in Music awards, which this year was held at the John Lovitz Theatre at the Universal City Walk in Los Angeles.
Mark travelled from Florida to attend the event and was able to broadcast live to our listening audience. It was great because I was unable to attend this year and I was able to listen in and actually broadcast for a couple of hours with Mark. Rich Wildman from Music Scene Investigations http://msi.icweekly.net/ helped Mark with the technical side of things and everything went so smooth!
Mark opened the show and introduced the host for the night Nic Creznic. It was so nice too because Mark mentioned that it was my birthday and asked everyone to say it out loud……so awesome!
Tamela Plaine, who is now part of the Indie News at Noon team, was having a ball on the red carpet interviewing the artists that were up for nomination! She even wrote a small piece of her own about her experience at the event! http://gottapressplay.com/2014/02/09/a-look-inside-the-artist-in-music-awards-2014/
Some of the artists from the red carpet, popped over to join Mark live on the air, which was very exciting.
We are proud to announce that Twitter Tuesday Live was voted “Best Independent Radio Show” an awesome achievement and one that Mark and I are very proud of!
Mark was asked these questions about this year’s event:
Q. How do you think this year’s venue compared to the previous two at the Key Club in Hollywood
A. The Johns Lovitz Theatre is smaller but much nicer than the Key Club was. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Universal City Walk. I really liked it and hope the AIMAs can be held there every year!
Q. What was it like broadcasting live from the awards this year?
A. It was a great and fun experience. Of course, I had a great team with Rich in the studio and Tamela working the red carpet. What made it even better was that Carol was able to join us for a while!
Q. How did you feel opening the show and introducing Nic?
A. It was pretty cool opening the show. I enjoy being up on the stage interacting with the audience. Introducing Nic was an honor.
Q. How did you feel winning the award for The Best Independent Radio show?
A. Winning the award was amazing. Above all, it validates all of the work that Carol and I put into the show and the passion we have for helping independent musicians get their music heard. It’s pretty cool to be able to say “Award Winning Show”!
